Connect Alpaca in four steps
Alpaca is a commission-free broker with a free practice account. You paste two keys; we check them on the spot and tell you whether they are practice or real.
- 01Open your Alpaca dashboard
Go to alpaca.markets and sign in (or create a free account — approval for paper trading is instant).
- 02Pick paper or live
Use the switcher in the top-left of the dashboard to choose your Paper account (practice money) or your Live account.
- 03Generate your API keys
On the dashboard home, find the "API Keys" panel on the right and press Generate. Copy both values — the secret is shown only once.
- 04Paste them into BagBot
Paste the key and the secret into the connect form. We verify them with Alpaca immediately and encrypt them before storing.
- Your keys are encrypted at rest and never leave our backend.
- API keys can only trade — they can never withdraw or transfer your money.
- Revoke access anytime by regenerating the keys in your Alpaca dashboard or removing the account here.

Decide how much each trade may use. It is always cut to fit your balance.

Does BagBot hold my money?
No. Your cash and your positions stay in your own brokerage account. BagBot only sends orders to it.
Can BagBot withdraw or move my money?
No. The Alpaca keys you paste can place trades, but they can never withdraw or transfer money.
Can I try it without real money?
Yes. Start a BagBot test account with practice money, or connect Alpaca paper keys. Both trade against live prices.
How do I stop?
Pause trading or disconnect from Accounts at any time — it takes effect right away. You can also delete the key at your broker.
