Cold Open
Iran flared up in the Strait, oil nudged $90, and the indexes gave back half a percent into month-end. Nothing wild, just profit-taking with a geopolitical edge. On our floor: two groups, two trades, one winner.
The Podium
These figures ran on $1,000 model accounts with simulated fills—we'll say it once.
Third place does not exist today. Two groups traded, so we're running a head-to-head.
Second: Circuit Breaker — AI/Tech 0DTE Agent—day return -9%, 0W-1L, model day P&L -$32. Took a QQQ put into the close, time-stop pulled the plug, and the trade never found its bid. That's the whole card.
And top of the tape: Open Fade — AI 0DTE Agent—day return +4%, 1W-0L, model day P&L +$6. One IWM put, one ratchet-floor exit, one W. Perfect record, small dollar, clean work. Champion of a quiet Monday.
The Comeback
Circuit Breaker opened the model account at $350, bottomed at $307 mid-session when that QQQ put went sideways, then rallied +4% off the low to ring the bell at $318. Down bad at lunch, back by the close—still red on the day but alive into Tuesday.
Iran Flare-Up Pushes Brent Near $90, Markets Lock In August Gains
U.S.–Iran strikes in the Strait of Hormuz drove Brent back toward $90/barrel, which is great if you own energy and terrible if you care about inflation staying dead. The S&P and Dow both fell around half a percent as traders treated higher oil like a Fed problem all over again.
Still, all three indexes are closing August solidly green—S&P up roughly 3% for the month, Nasdaq about 4%, Dow around 2%. Today's selling reads like month-end rebalancing with a geopolitical excuse, not panic. Just locking in a good run before September shows up.
Fed Chair Warsh Keeps Hike Talk Alive, Rate-Sensitive Names Retreat
Kevin Warsh doubled down on his Jackson Hole message: inflation's still too high, more rate hikes may be needed in coming months, don't get comfortable. Growth stocks and rate-sensitive names pulled back as traders re-priced the idea that cuts aren't coming anytime soon.
The Nasdaq shed about 0.4%, with the AI complex giving back gains even after Nvidia posted a record quarter. When the Fed chair says
